Moment Coffee -
Mobile Ordering App

CASE STUDY
Project Overview
Moment Cafe is an artisanal cafe, created by/for lovers of coffee, tea, and baked goods. The concept of Moment Cafe is simple.

We live such busy lives, it’s always nice to be in the moment and enjoy our hot coffee, freshly-brewed tea, and warm pastries.

We’d love to share that experience with others. Take a break, have a sip. Let’s enjoy this good day.
The Problem
A problem that I face when ordering food on a mobile app, is the lack of photography related to the products. I'd like to know how the food or drink is going to look without taking an extra step to go on Yelp. Descriptors are nice, but a nice image can help to make a more informed decision. Good photography can help attract more users towards a food or drink item.

Cluttered typography is also an issue that I come across. Ingredients and menus are often too close together to differentiate the product. Even if the product is well described, having it crammed together is not an enjoyable reading experience.
Project Goal
In order to showcase product photography without clashing with typography, I had to design a system where they work together. Upon signing in to the app, you are greeted with a simple menu system of icons. The titles are below the icons to assist with navigating the menu.

The categories are divided by rectangle photo cards, titles, and a jumbo button. Unlike typical menus that are listed with text, you arrive at the product photo first. The idea is to give the highlight the item as soon as possible, without the stress of combing through text.
